Mr. Rogers' life emulated the Love of the Father. One of his more famous quotes was: “When I was a boy and I would see scary things in the news, my mother would say to me, 'Look for the helpers. You will always find people who are helping.'” In Psalm 9:10, David writes, "May everyone who knows your mercy keep putting their trust in you, for they can count on you for help no matter what. O Lord, you will never, no never, neglect those who come to you." David was right. Count on God for help no matter what. He is our present help in the middle of complete darkness. He is the lifter of our weary soul. He is the perfecter of our faith. He protects us. He is our ultimate defender. When the extraordinary compassion of God our Savior and His overpowering love suddenly appeared in person, as the brightness of a dawning day, he came to save us. Titus 3:4-5 (TPT) As a culture, we have been seeing some "scary things." We don't have all the answers, but we do have the truth. Our extraordinary, compassionate Savior has all the "scary things" under control. In Psalm 46:1 (NIV), David declares that "God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble." A rightly discerned moment will shift our atmosphere and move us to a level that would have taken years to reach in the natural. What are you discerning in this hour? Pray without ceasing until you discern. Then pray harder! Your prayers will tap into the heart of God and bring healing to our land. You are the helper! Warmly, Ingrid
