“For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Eternal, “plans for peace, not evil, to give you a future and hope— never forget that.” Jeremiah 29:11 (VOICE)
Change is in the atmosphere. “Change” is not always an easy thing to embrace!
For me this transition has been a struggle! It’s a good time to take spiritual inventory. What change might God be inviting me into? Am I entering a new season? What new is on the horizon? What might I need to let go of to embrace the new possibilities? Am I willing to let go? If I am feeling resistance, no matter how subtle, it must be dealt with. He is oh so ready to remove whatever may be hindering and getting in the way of all the “good” He wants to release in my life.
“He'd fly through the air with the greatest of ease
That daring young man on the flying trapeze...”
I am reminded of the trapeze artists and how they swing forward so gracefully as they leap away from the secure platform into space, only to let go again as they reach for the next bar just ahead. This graceful transition is so beautiful to watch and this visual can teach us something about life and faith if we have eyes to see.
We must LET GO of the “safe,” the “familiar” to RECEIVE the NEXT...the NEW, the next thing God has for us. It’s a risk, but with God, who is our Good Good Father...we can KNOW that the NEXT is.....GOOD. That’s the truth. We can take that to the bank. So let’s take a leap of faith, away from the safety of the platform, the familiar, and then as we soar through the air and “see” the bar ahead of us, LET GO...and reach for the NEW! Oh how I long to reach forward and move through the air with such graceful ease as that “daring young man on the flying trapeze"!
“Clothed in strength and dignity, with nothing to fear, she smiles when she thinks about the future.” Proverbs 31:25 (VOICE)
Let’s live with and in His grace... smiling at our future!
