He is Coming for You

Advent means “ coming” in Latin. The Advent Season is a time of preparation as we wait in expectancy for The Coming. This has always been a special time I look forward to each year. I make a point of being intentional and carve out a space to posture myself to receive God “ coming” to me in an intimate way and special way.

It’s not always easy to “ get there” in the midst of so many distractions, but it is SO worth it when I do.Sometimes His Coming finds me in quiet ways but often He Comes in unexpected and surprising ways as I look for Him and anticipate His Arrival.

The holidays can be a difficult time and you may be experiencing loss of some kind, or grieving for someone you love ( I know that I am ). You may be facing very challenging circumstances with finances, health, relationships, dissapointments ...really hard stuff, and find that you are just plain soul weary. Whatever condition your heart is in, what we all need, is to see and feel God come for us personally.

O Holy Night

“O holy night the stars are brightly shining

It is the night of our dear Savior's birth

Long lay the world in sin and error pining

Till He appeared and the soul felt its worth

A thrill of hope the weary world rejoices

For yonder breaks a new glorious morn... Fall on your knees..”

This well recognized Christmas hymn is one of my favorites. We are reminded of God coming to us and with a His “appearing” our soul can feel it’s “ worth” and a “ thrill of hope” breaks through our weariness, and our hearts begin to rejoice because the “ new and glorious morn” has come. What WONDER-FULL GOOD NEWS! This is my hope for you this season.

I encourage you to take time to “ fall on your knees” before Jesus, breathe in His Presence and let Him wash over you. Receive His Love. Listen to Him remind you of your WORTH ( not because anything you do or have done but just by being you).Begin to feel how precious you are to Him. Sing the song, declare it in the atmosphere. Don’t be surprised that when you start to sing, you find HOPE begins to rise in your heart and TRUTH ignites and you start to BELIEVE that THIS DAY, TODAY, is that “ NEW AND GLORIOUS MORN” and you will discover HE HAS COME...just for YOU.

May your Advent ( “His Coming”) be all you need.
