Flash of Inspiration

A flash of inspiration is a knowing on the inside that comes from your heart. It arrives seemingly out of nowhere. Suddenly you know something you did not know before. Suddenly you see God’s presence manifested. Suddenly you have wisdom beyond your understanding. Suddenly everything changes. Revelation is not something you chase, it is something God orchestrates. He is the master of the suddenlies!

Our Father is a forward thinker.  He is constantly trying to keep us moving forward and encouraging us not to retreat in defeat or mediocrity. If we want to see suddenlies, we have to have that same mindset.  Your faith for the things of yesterday is not enough for faith for what you need today.  You need forward momentum.  You have to dig deeper. You have to mature.  Yesterday was yesterday and your yesterday is not where God wants to take you today.

One of the most convicting and comforting words Jesus spoke is John 14:12: "I tell you this timeless truth: The person who follows me in faith, believing in me, will do the same mighty miracles that I do--even greater miracles than these because I go to be with my Father!"

Time and time again, Jesus offered us a glimpse of the power of the suddenlies.  Suddenly people were raised from the dead, suddenly blind eyes were open, suddenly a small amount of food fed a multitude, suddenly water was fine wine.  And these amazing things Jesus performed "suddenly" pale in comparison to what He told us we were equipped to do. Mind-blowing, eh?

So I ask you, where is your faith for suddenlies?

Heavenly Father, we ask for the jaw dropping suddenlies in our lives, homes, families,  workplaces, neighborhoods, cities, states, nations, and the world.  Come, Holy Spirit, come!  Bring the fire of your suddenlies as we stand in awe and wonder at your Amazing Glory! Amen.

I pray full vision into your life this week.  May you see things with a new lens and may your yesterdays stay in the rearview mirror.
