We just got off a month of experiencing a Selah – A Sacred Pause. It has left me with a heart overflowing with anticipation. Anticipation can be pleasurable expectation or filled with apprehension. It involves contemplation and hope, and it serves to create a foresight or foretaste of future events. While anticipation can be positive or negative, let’s focus on the pleasurable side of anticipation today.

Relationship doesn’t just mean leaning on Him for help in troubled and stressful times, but it also means soaring with Him in victory and anticipation of His yet-to-be-fulfilled promises. Our mind should dwell with pleasurable anticipation on the greater things He has planned for us in this life—and in the next.

God is in control! He has your best interests in mind! He intends everything for your good, and it is all done ultimately for His purpose and glory.  We are called to live lives of anticipation.

What are you in your heart of hearts anticipating in your own life?

Declare it out loud and put some authority behind your words. Let’s live our lives in the state of full expectancy.

“For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.” (Jeremiah 29:11)
